Moments at Bonita Street

M and M Mini STEAM 2016

A group of TK students, Kindergarteners, First graders, and one Second grader worked with Mrs. Mastin and Ms. Sam to work on a STEAM program to build a catapult in six weeks.

The TransPORTER 2016

The TransPORTER visited Bonita Street back in November.  Our First through Fifth grade students were able to hear some interesting facts about how we get our goods from the Ports of Los Angeles and San Pedro.  Inside the "classroom" container were various hands-on opportunities that allowed students  to engage in conversations with their peers and teachers.

Harvest Festival 2016

This year's Harvest Festival was quite an event!  We saw our newest Bonita St. family members parade along with their ETK/TK/Kindergarten friends. We saw the rest of our students get out their colorful and festive costumes to highlight our Harvest Fest.  Our PTA did such a wonderful job to help support our school and we thank all our students, families, and staff for their continued support!

100 Mile Club on Channel 7

In our 2nd year of the 100 Mile club, Bonita Street continues to instill in our students the importance of physical activity. This past August, Channel 7 came out and interviewed some of our very own.  We were featured along with some other schools to highlight our growing success.

Learning Garden

Bonita Street is the home to a wonderful learning garden that provides our students and teachers the opportunity to grow vegetables and plants. Throughout the months, you can see different vegetables and plants growing.

Natural History Museum Mobile

The Natural History Museum Mobile visited Bonita Street this past year.  Our upper grade students were educated about the rich history of California.

For six weeks, our GATE students embarked on their STEAM journey.  Ms. Gomez had about 30 students across the grade level working together through the STEAM process. Families shared in the culminating event of creating a trap.
